A fast and fresh take on Mediterranean food; Yalla Mediterranean grills to order, and is locally sourced.
I had the opportunity to be a guest of a new restaurant that opened in Dublin, California.
Yalla Mediterranean – “Yalla” is a common expression denoting “come on”, “let’s get going”, in the Arabic language.
A new interpretation in fresh, flavorful fast Mediterranean food. Yalla will quickly become your favorite.
The first thing I noticed when I entered was the wall of live herbs including cilantro, parsley, mint, etc. used in the delicious offerings. Diners can order wraps, pitas, skewers, falafels, shawarma, and salads, all with a variety of toppings and sauces.
You begin with your protein of choice: chicken, steak, wild salmon, or kefta. Skewers are cooked to order on an open grill that is 1000 degrees F and only take about three minutes
I tried the chicken Shwarma Yalla Plate, which is served with basmati rice, fresh vegetables, and your choice of three side.
The hubby had the steak skewers Yalla Plate.
Most impressive were the selection of sides. They were all so fantastic it will be challenging to only choose three per entré. Both the chicken and steak were grilled to perfection. Everything was so fresh and bursting with flavor.
I enjoyed the Medi Kale Salad, The Roasted Parsnip Salad and fries. He tried the Moroccan Carrot Salad, The Greek Potato Salad and fries.
I can’t forget to mention the delicious Pita bread that is served with the Yalla Pate. It’s soft, flavorful and perfect with their trio dip of Hummas, Baba Ganoush or Fire Feta.
Dessert was chopped baklava with soft serve Greek yogurt drizzled with honey. There is something for everyone at Yalla’s including those who want dairy or gluten free.
Dine in with comfortable seating indoors or on the patio with heaters, or take out.
Service was super friendly and really quick. Yalla could easily become a welcome California chain. They are popping up in locations everywhere.
Yalla also offers local wines and craft beers on tap as well as house-made lemonade.
I hope this gives you a nudge into trying out Yalla Mediterranean. And if you do, let me know what you think! The cool thing about Yalla is that they are open to new ideas and are forward thinking (they have a 1 bin policy and have made it so that everything in the store is compostable).
I was invited to try out Yalla Mediterranian as a guest. No monetary compensationhas been received for this post. As always, all opinions are 100% my own.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.
